About the Study

Total knee replacement surgery, also known as total knee arthroplasty (TKA), is often recommended for knee joint failure. Knee joint failure can be caused by osteoarthritis (OA), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), arthritis following a trauma to the joint, and other types of inflammatory arthritis.

Total knee replacement surgery is recommended for knee joint failure after other treatment options like physical therapy and corticosteroid injections have not provided relief. The potential benefits of total knee replacement surgery include pain relief and improvement in function and mobility.

This study is assessing pain relief following the total knee replacement surgery.

You may qualify if you:

  • Are 18 - 80 years old
  • Need a total knee replacement
