Robert Schwing

Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Robert Schwing is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of NextStage Clinical Research and NextStage Clinical Research International (“NCR” companies), which are the latest in a long line of disruptive, platform businesses built over his 30+ year career in healthcare. NextStage Clinical Research is committed to innovation, partnering with physicians, and delivering solutions that provide hope for patients around the world.

Robert Schwing is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MedSite Partners, another successful business enterprise conceived and created with his brother and business partner, Ned Schwing. As CEO of MedSite – a cardiovascular ambulatory surgery center management company that acquires, develops and operates high-acuity cardiac surgery centers across the U.S. – he oversees every aspect of the business to include executive team management, partnership development and organizational expansion.

Robert also Co-Founded NextStage Medical, a growing, national durable medical equipment provider built around rapid recovery solutions that foster improved outcomes for patients to return to their daily activities faster.

Robert and his brother Ned also founded Partners Surgical, an orthopedic and spine focused ASC development company. They partnered with strategic physician groups around the country to support the high acuity migration of Total Joints and Spine Procedures out of the hospital into the outpatient environment.

Prior to Partners Surgical, the Schwing’s founded National Cardiovascular Partners (NCP), an organization that created, sustained and grew independent, outpatient and inpatient cardiac catheterization and vascular labs in a unique partnership with physician entrepreneurs. During his tenure at NCP, the company partnered with Bain Capital, one of the world’s leading private investment firms, to accelerate their growth and increase their operating capacity. By 2014, NCP had a growing national footprint, and was acquired by Fresenius Medical Care North America (FMCNA), one of the nation’s largest healthcare conglomerates.

A lifelong entrepreneur, Schwing founded several other successful companies including National Billing Partners, Specialty Therapeutic Care, Physicians Surgical Care, and Southwest Renal Care. Intimately involved in the strategy, development and overall management of operations, Schwing’s steady stewardship resulted in significant increases in investor equity and returns for each endeavor.

A native Houstonian, in Robert’s free-time he enjoys spending time with his family, hunting on his ranch, and fly fishing.

"Patients deserve to have access to innovation! Our NCR worldwide team is committed to serving patients and physicians alike, providing solutions that deliver results through trust, transparency and dedication to those who need it most."
